Using beach towels as bath towels?

Anonymous
My friend's family has always done this, and I think it's very strange. (Her family home growing up literally had no regular bath towels and now, as an adult, she also uses beach towels as bath towels.)

We had a discussion about it today, but maybe it isn't as crazy as I think it is. What does DCUM say?

Great idea! Beach towels are so cozy.

You had a discussion about it? I hope you didn't say it in a mean way. Why does this warrant your attention and concern?

I've done it. I've also used bath towels as beach or pool towels. Whatever's clean. NBD.

Definitely not mean and I am not concerned at all. Just curious if this is something others do! (and should I start...)

I don't because our beach towels are huge and thick and the thought of washing those as often as we wash our bath towels is too much.

We have a large family and don't always have enough towels. Sometimes when we don't get around to laundry we need to use beach towels.

We never run out. We have 60 bath towels.

I bought my son a couple of thin, cheap beach towels to take to summer day camps that would fit in his backpack bc all the ones we had were huge. This was about 8 years ago. As I was getting out of the shower just yesterday, I was thinking how odd it is that my favorite towels are now those Orange beach towels from when my son was in elementary school!! I took 7 brand new plush bath towels off to the dorm with me freshman year. I did not grow up using cheap beach towels! I don't know what it is but I love these beach towels now so much, I will be devastated if something ever happens to them. Really odd and random to see this topic here today!?!

nothing wrong with it but the only time I reach for those is when I've run out of my regular towels because my DD hordes them.
