Not asking Asian women born overseas because I hear that their skincare is so great that they seem ageless. I am Korean American, age 34, and today in the bright locker room light at the gym some forehead wrinkles and another one in between my brows, which I never noticed before. I thought I was aging better than my caucasian peers... guess not. |
At 36. I came down with a serious illness and instead of rebounding, my face caved in, when before it had been youthfully plump. Now my cheek texture is just like every other white 36 year olds ![]() I still have good skin and hair, though, although that will probably start to go soon. |
Slight wrinkles around my eyes at 52. It is still lighter than what I see on many 35 year olds, but before this year my skin was plump and taut. I am not a sun-worshipper, but I think this is due to impending menopause. The facial fat starts to disappear. |
Depends on what you mean by "older"?
I'm Japanese American. Noticed tension lines between my eyebrows at 30. Those are still there; no other major wrinkles now, at 48, but, as is true of every person, nothing's as clear-cut as it was when I was a kid. |
Closer to 40. |
Age 40, but I believe that was due to the stress of young kids and sleepless nights more than anything else. |
OP Well this stage is where I'm at now, good to know my kids have aged me ahead of my time! |
This may be instructive.

I am 51 and Korean American. No wrinkles, fine lines or sagging. My face still looks pretty much like it always has but I never tanned, wear sunscreen religiously and try to stay out of the sun my whole life. I like being pale and milky white.
Also, I am the same weight I was in my twenties even after kids which helps. I am a runner and workout/crossfit. |
About 38. |
I jealous you girls who saw your first wrinkles at 35+ . I am 32 and I see small wrinkles around my eyes, my skin lost it's tonus and I see dark circles around my eyes. I already googled non-invasive treatment ( http://mediluxe.ca/en/visage/rides-et-ridules/ ), think I'll try it soon. |
Op - that is amazing |
Op - yea i haven't done much re sunscreen and was hoping being darker would help. My weight is fine though. |
I'm Latina, married to a Japanese-American man, and my SIL, who's almost 60 looks fabulous. She's my style and beauty idol. She has a great figure and a few laugh lines around the eyes. She recently decided to let her hair go grey and got a fabulous cut. On Thanksgiving, she wore a black dress -- just above the knee -- with black tights and booties and a long grey ribbed sweater coat. My daughter and the other teen and college girls in the family oohed and aahed over her outfit. |
Chinese American here. Having kids in mid 30s definitely accelerated the aging process for me. Now in early 40s, not much wrinkles yet but the dark under eye circles have become a permanent fixture. When my kids ask why I have so many lotions and potions, I said it's bc mommy is old!
