My partner and I have been planning our dream vacation for some time now; our planned itinerary includes Tuscany, the interlochen region of Switzerland, biking with a guide in the south of France, Amsterdam, Dublin, and until recently: London.
We have been re-thinking the London portion in the wake of all the unrest (xenophobia, intolerance, etc) we keep reading about in England. Is England still safe? Are the people still open-minded towards folks like us? Please tell us what you honestly feel, because we still have time to change our plans; TIA! |

Emm.. London is known as Londonistan. There are more non-whites than whites there.
The stuff you've read about tends to be in small English villages. |
| You'll be perfectly fine. London is very international and I doubt anyone will look twice at you. |
| I think you'll be fine. And I'm a very cautious traveler. |
| You'll be fine in London. I'd be more concerned about Tuscany and the South of France. |

More than parts of the Midwest or South US!
My parents are of different ethnicities and we lived in a small country town in Scotland. People were friendly. |
| If London frightens you, you are a very non-savvy traveler. Good luck on your trip with that attitude. Maybe you'll learn something when you broaden your horizons! |
| Londoner here - you'll be fine in London and anywhere in England. I'm a bit astonished that this is even a question (London is one of the most diverse and multi-cultural cities in the world), but I get it because now that I live here in DC, a few of my London friends have wondered whether it will be OK for them as Muslims and Jews to visit, now that they have seen pictures of swastikas being daubed on buildings, etc in the post Trump world. |
| You are extremely naive if you think going to the uk would be a problem. In fact, multicultural couples are much more common there than here. |
We are a multi-racial family and went to small villages in the UK (not just touristy areas) just after brexit vote. No funny looks. Like a PP stated, I felt more comfortable there than I would in some parts of the US. |
IDK, if I were a Muslim, I would not feel comfortable visiting the US right now. It's not just the KKK, but now even some seemingly "normal" white people have had their crazy brought out by Trump. |

| Just got back from London and never felt unsafe. I think I actually felt safer there then DC. But pretty much everyone we talked to asked us about Trump and how he got elected. |
| yeah.... Asian man/white woman couple here. We get more stares in Bethesda than we did in London.... More than in Seoul too for that matter. |
| This can't be a real post |
