The 26s were the last of the top tier crop to go to sssas. And the coaching is past its prime. |
I stopped by to see any stories about dads hiding in trees to try and watch tryouts. Looks like it was a bit more low key than last year, and that the 2028 thread is pretty much moribund. |
And like someone posted above no freshman on varsity and SSSAS doesn’t sub at all during games so if your daughter is not one of the players then not worth sending her there for lacrosse. Lots of better programs that will give her better development opportunities all around the area to include some good public school options. |
Isn’t SSSAS coach the one making the decisions for American Select? |
It’s pretty obvious that the Capital ‘28 team should get most of the American Select spots though I am not even sure how many of them tried out. Like with all of these showcases, American Select seems to be losing some luster. |
Some good MD clubs represented (Hero's and M&D) as well. I would imagine those girls have a good chance at making the team. |
Luster? Luster of $1000, basic pinnies for uniforms and playing games in a corn field under the death valley sun. Give me some of that luster! |
I believe luster was referring to the reputation and not the literal experience. |
Be interesting to see how many Capital make the team and didn't show up to the tryouts. |
You can send tape in too![]() |
when i told them my DD had a scheduling conflict with tryouts they did not give me that option |
Wow, a highlight tape versus actual competition. Probably need to be a Capital player to make that work. Not saying they would bias their own selections... |
This is fake news. You have to show up at the tryout |
We'll see when the roster comes out. |
The girls are fairly well connected and I have a decent sense of the roster already. I am not aware of any girls picked who were not at the tryout. |
