Shopping for someone with a growing love of cooking. need a great every day sauce/fry pan (sorry I am NOT a cook). Please recommend your favorite one/brand. Price is no issue. |
Calphalon Elite nonstick frypan from Williams Sonoma. It's actually staying nonstick and I use it all the time. Do NOT get the ones that are labelled "green", like Greenspan They suck.

Um I just got one from Marshalls or Ross. I didn't care about brand, but I think mine is T-Fal. |
All-clad is great if you're willing to spend the money for it. |
Go to Marshalls or TJ Maxx. They have a great selection of cookware, including some Italian brands. You can sometimes find All Clad too at a reduced price. |
I got a set of 3 Henckels ceramic-coated non stick pans from Costco. Doing great so far. They replaced a Calphalon non stick Unison Sear skillet that finally gave out after 3 years. |
I have these and love them! |

I'm recently divorced (man) and so I'm falling in love with cooking. Not sure if this is what the OP is looking for, but I LOVE cooking in cast iron pans - except eggs, I have a crappy non-stick from Target for that. Then again, eggs are nasty, so I guess it doesn't matter ; ) |

Pans are personal, especially for someone who is a great or experienced cook. I'd rather receive a Sur La Table gift card and a nice card, so I could pick out my own cookware. |
Cast iron...very small one for eggs....
Calphalon double boiler with perforated steamer basket. |
DeBuyer for non-stick frying pans.
