What did your 13 year old son do today?

Mine played video games for hours- friends out of town - it's going to be a long couple of days!

Mine got home from school at just after 1. He walked the dog, raked some leaves, practiced his instrument, and made some cookies for tomorrow.

Mine is 14. He walked to dog for about 20 minutes and helped me tidy up for guests a bit, and otherwise has been reading and eating all day.

He helped dh cut up and haul a fallen tree in the backyard, made an apple pie and a pumpkin pie with his sister, and played on the Xbox with friends.

My eighth grader has two homework assignments due, a project, a paper, and a test all at some point next week. His words: "You know what, I am just going to do this all today so I don't have to worry about anything the rest of the weekend and I'll be able to have fun."

I'm not sure where this foreign, non-procrastinating specimen came from- but he certainly didn't get it from me...

Mine came to school with me today and helped my students do a Thanksgiving project. He chose this over staying home and playing video games. He has his moments.

Played video games with friends, worked on a science project, went out to a movie with the family, and now is back to playing videogames with his friends.

Two friends showed up late morning. I left to get BIL at the airport (FIL stayed with kids) and when I got home 4 hours later there were two more boys with them in the kitchen. They were pretty stinky so I think they were actually out in the backyard playing soccer quite a bit.

My sons are still in elementary school and I've been worried about the teenage years. REading about all your sons, I'm actually looking forward to it. Thank you!

Teenage boys are awesome. I love seeing them emerging into their adult selves!

Almost to the T this is what my 12 yr old did as well - he played outside by himself a bit, too.

Mine has been holed up in his room today since breakfast. Either chatting with the "love of my life" bethany or jerking off....

I mean if you have relatives over and your kids are 10 and over, regardless of gender, they should be polite hosts/guests, present, attentive during conversations, and attempt to be inquisitive. Otherwise, what's the big deal if it's a day off and they're playing in front of a screen most of the time, especially of the weather is bad? No different than husband watching football all day.

Now being behind closed doors all day... regardless if he or she needs to masturbate once or twice...is a bit of a red flag IMO.
