For real! I’m a middle aged white woman who isn’t offended at all. But I also have the critical thinking ability to realize that not all middle aged white women are, “Karens” - in fact, plenty are not. It’s only the ones that act that way. I really don’t get what all the fuss is about.

Stop calling the police/ manager/ boss for stupid, inconsequential bs “issues” and you’ll cease to be acting like a Karen. Try to use sound, judgment that isn’t based in conscious or unconscious biases while you’re at it. For example, if someone is robbing me, it’s ok to call the cops. If I see a black man jogging in my neighborhood, it’s not. Honestly, this shouldn’t be so hard.

It’s only difficult for Karens, people that don’t want their entitlement or prejudice called out. Glad you aren’t one of them.

You can only wish the real annoying ones had so much self awareness. You’re deluding yourself if you think they care.

They are all over this thread caring and whining.

You’re all over this thread pretending it’s not broadly applied to any woman who dares to express an opinion. According to you, even pp’s who disagree with you about the scope are Karens.

Another example.

Oh and you are confusing posters. Several posters on this thread.

Or, you can listen, as you'd like to be listened to. And you can stop lecturing strangers about how they've never experienced discomfort. I doubt many white women (except those who've been abused) have experienced discomfort the way minorities in this country have for generations. But to argue that you calling them "Karen" is the "first time" they've experienced ANY discomfort is presumptuous and deluded.

But I don't expect you to pay any attention. You want to insult white women by calling them Karens. OK, you do you.

Do. Not all white women. Just the ones who act like Karen. If you don’t act like Karen then it isn’t an insult.

As this thread has amply demonstrated, any assertiveness by a middle-aged white women is apparently Karen behavior.

Use gender-neutral language. Call a racist a racist. Call a jerk a jerk. But stop tarring all middle-aged white women with the bad behavior of a few.

Then you haven’t read every post. Just continue to pick and choose which post upsets you the most. If you need an example of a Karen, look at Amy Cooper and the two women in the videos posted in the other off topics thread. If you act like any of those women, then Karen will be an insult.

Amy Cooper is a racist using white women’s tears.

The two women in the video are jerks. Neither is better than a man doing the same thing, but you’d call him a jerk, you wouldn’t connect him with a specific man’s name.

You and others on this thread are using Karen really broadly, to call any woman who merely asserts herself a beatch. Yes, I’ve read the entire thread, but apparently you haven’t. All the inferences about OP’s motives and what she “might” have done are poison. And you’re using a gender-specific name to shut OP down by calling her a beatch. This isn’t on, it’s misogynistic.

Another example of someone calling your misogynistic butt out.

Go away, conservative women haters. You must hate it when women try to stand up for themselves, even in reasonable and appropriate ways. But you can’t mainstream this abuse of women.

Yes, poor you. You can’t yell and demand your way anymore (I mean you can, just hope you aren’t being recorded).

So then you would prefer people just use bitch instead? That’s fine. I prefer the harshness of it more to describe your poison.

DP - but yeah, you can't shame me into not speaking out about sexism and against stereotypes of women as complainers. If that makes me a Karen, so be it. I think that's better than the alternative - someone who stereotypes women and perpetuates inequalities of the sexes.

You were never going to be silenced or shamed. Don’t pretend you care what people think of you or like you aren’t the loudest person in every situation. Do you. Newsflash: No One Cares (just don’t get filmed yelling at people).

But after I got over the outrage at his behavior, something else struck me.

Nobody is trying to make that about ALL white men.

By contrast, every time another white woman shows up on YouTube, misogynist pp tries to make it about ALL white women.

White men have been under attack for years with toxic masculinity and many other things.
Now it's white women's turn.

I think a lot of think you all need to be offended. It's the only thing that will shake you from your comfort and complacency. I think for a lot of you this is the very first time you've experienced this kind of discomfort, and it's why you're losing it. My hope is that the result of feeling this discomfort is greater empathy for those who have no choice but to live in the same discomfort you feel right now, every day of their lives, facing much harsher consequences than being called Karen. You have no real clue what actually being silenced feels like, but if this gets you closer to understanding, it's worth it.

Umm, no. It doesn't work that way.
You are turning more and more people against you.
Women in this case.

+1. Yes, most white women support the protests and BLM. But no, insulting them isn't going to increase empathy for you.

Absolute BS, you liar. Just look at what happened to OP: she doesn't want to enter a store because of COVID but she feels she can't say anything. And you guys dump all over her for being a Karen anyway.

Newsflash: you hate women and it's obvious.

Actually, this isn’t about me. It’s about all women.
