Economy is roaring

But we know that this is just a continuation of the Obama rally and that the economy is doing so well because of Obama.

Correction: the sages on this forum have said that presidents have little or nothing to do with the economy and the markets ......... and they will hold to this ridiculous notion until the market takes a hit and then we will hear that it was because of Trump - and suddenly presidents will have everything to do with the economy and stock market performance!

A year ago, Trump and the Republican Congress had shut down the government, the stock market was dragging, and there was not one competent leader in the White House, House, or Senate. But then on Jan. 3, 2019, Nancy Pelosi took over as Speaker of the House and all of that improved, despite the continuing incompetence and corruption of the President and Senate Majority Leader. Thanks Speaker Pelosi!

Oh, so the economy and markets are doing well because of Pelosi; and I thought it was Obama all along!

Democrats can't reconcile themselves to the great economy we have had under Trump!

What kind of economic train wreck did W leave? Big difference, and you are intellectually dishonest attempting to make an apple to apples comparison. Further, when Obama drove the debt, it was to stabilize the economy by heavily funding infrastructure projects which circulated money back into the economy. Big difference from cutting taxes and letting the 1% hoard dollars that stay out of the economy.

The first three years of Obama's first term were exceptional given the great recession. It might be fairer to compare the first three years of Obama's second term to the first three years of Trump's first term. National debt up around 13% for the former and 16% for the latter. This isn't a huge difference IMO.

My understanding is the Carter took the shackles off housing lending and it was under Obama that sub-prine mortgages started taking off.
Add in the liberals philosophy that everyone is entitled (Acorn and the like) you get the housing crisis that just happen to occur under Bush

Your rewrite of history won't work, democrats.

Affordable housing is better than homeless camps. I know conservatives don’t care about the poor and serve the rich but the poor need representation too.

Have you educated yourself about those far-left liberals running Dan Francisco and Seattle?
Their inability to house the poor lacks compassion.

DP here. Who’s wishing that? We all wish Spanky was gone and not the US “leader” in such troubled times.
