This is not why people are upset. |
I prefer not to drop an atomic bomb on 25 million people to punish their leader for the death of 1 person. And I really, sincerely, greatly hope that the president of the United States, or James Mattis, or whoever has the button, agrees with me. |
I believe the bulk of the evidence suggests he did not steal a poster, but rather that this was a made-up story by the North Koreans to justify detaining an American. Sad that you'd buy into the propaganda so willingly. We are already embroiled in a conflict, if North Korea thinks it's OK to detain an American under false pretenses and then murder him. The only question is how we now respond. What's your suggestion? |
I get that but the fact is he chose to go there and do this. Knowing it's North Korea. He has paid far too steep a price but that doesn't mean others should die for his choice. |
| We MUST get our other hostages (what they call prisoners) out ASAP. There needs to be some really hard, tough diplomacy with those SOBs. I hope President Trump can make this happen. |
It's simplistic to suggest that a military or some other strategic response would merely punish a single leader, when a large segment of the corrupt North Korean society props up the dictatorship, based on a willingness to treat the dictator as a messiah. They share in the responsibility for Wormblier's murder. |
His family has shown great strength and grace through all this. Not sure I could do the same. |
Yeah, guess those black people who got killed by police should have stayed in their own damn homes and minded their own business, and then nothing bad would have happened to them. |
Big difference between getting shot while driving and minding your own business and getting detained in NORTH KOREA where you chose to go. And I'll just point out nobody thinks it's a big deal officers get away with shooting black people all the time yet y'all want to go to WAR for this white kid. |
It's extremely simplistic to suggest that dropping a nuclear bomb on any country would "punish" anybody. |
NP apples to oranges , the Feds have repeatedly made it clear that citizens should steer clear of North Korea , let me know when such a directive is given to AAs about going on about their days . False equivalency much ? |
No, plenty of people think it's a very big deal, but you apparently can't reciprocate the empathy because he's not the right skin color. |
When the skin melts off Kim Jong-un's face, which I suspect we'll find some way to make happen, the little toad is going to feel punished. |
DP. It's not that he went to NK, defaced a poster and was sentenced to prison. That's ordinary North Korea awfulness. Instead, he got sick, spent a year in a coma, and was released home to die. For "humanitarian" reasons. |
They murdered an American and they need to pay the price. |
