JD Vance: "I think this comes from a legitimate misunderstanding. I think the Iranians thought the ceasefire included Lebanon, and it just didn't. We never made that promise, we never indicated that was gonna be the case."

Lebanon was literally in the 10 point plan that the US agreed to. It is hard to understand if they are stupid, if they think we are stupid, if that are just that callous, or all of the above.

The US isn't bombing Lebanon. Israel is. Seems to me that Iran needs to be prosecuting a deal with Israel.

Just so we are clear: you are saying we should leave Israel high and dry?

Israel has repeatedly tried to sabotage any effort at peace. How many times have they assasinated negotiators in the midst of negotiations? 3 or 4?

They knew what the terms were and willfully violated them. Their continued blood lust is harming us. They're more instransigent and expansionist than Iran is. Let that sink in.

Do you have a better idea?

+1 Israel and Netanyahu specifically continue to benefit politically from this war while no one else does. If they can’t agree to stop bombing they are the problem.

Trump and his sons are benefiting Bigly. The way he has manipulated the market and nobody is calling it out is disgraceful. Barron played the polymarkets and reportedly got 11 figures betting and trading on the war. Don Jr and Erik were in the Middle East trying to sell their drones and weapons from their new defense company. While negotiating on behalf of the USA, Jared was as trying to get the Saudi and Emiratis to invest another 6 billion dollars in his firm. So the Trumps are definitely winning in this war, at least financially.

+1 Now the Trump and Witkoff kids are getting a cut from the ransom paid by ships to traverse the previously open Strait.

That is repulsive.

Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif calling it like he sees it.

Israel ‘a curse for humanity’: Pakistan’s defence minister
https://www.aljazeera.com/news/liveblog/2026/4/9/iran-war-live-israel-kills-254-in-lebanon-shaking-trump-tehran-ceasefire?update=4478080

Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has called Israel “evil and a curse for humanity” in a social media post, accusing it of committing “genocide” in Lebanon while peace negotiations are under way.

“Innocent citizens are being killed by Israel, first Gaza, then Iran and now Lebanon, bloodletting continues unabated,” he said.

Israel is evil and a curse for humanity, while peace talks are underway in Islamabad, genocide is being committed in Lebanon. Innocent citizens are being killed by Israel, first Gaza, then Iran and now Lebanon, bloodletting continues unabated. I hope and pray people who created this cancerous state on Palestinian land to get rid of European jews burn in hell.

I don't understand why some situation in Lebanon has anything whatsoever to do with the ceasefire?

Iran has repeatedly stated that Lebanon is a sovereign country with its own military, and that the Iranians have no involvement at all in Lebanon.

Why does Lebanon matter here at all?

Gaza Included – Tehran Lays Out Conditions for Permanent End Across Region
https://www.palestinechronicle.com/gaza-included-tehran-lays-out-conditions-for-permanent-end-across-region/

Iran has formally submitted its response to a US-backed proposal to end the war, rejecting any temporary ceasefire and outlining conditions for a permanent settlement, according to the Iranian news agency, IRNA.

The response was transmitted through Pakistan following two weeks of deliberations at the highest levels of Iranian leadership. It comes after the proposal was conveyed via intermediaries, including Pakistan and other regional actors.

Tehran’s position, structured around ten main points, reflects a broader strategic framework that rejects phased arrangements and instead calls for a comprehensive resolution to the conflict.

What is in the 10-point plan to end US-Israeli war on Iran?
https://www.middleeasteye.net/news/whats-irans-10-point-plan-end-us-israeli-war

Another key point for Iran is a guarantee that neither it nor its allies will face further attacks.

Trump's unpredictability has long been a major issue for Iran, which has been wary of taking the president's promises at face value.

As such, the Iranians have made the prevention of further attacks a key pillar of the plan once a "permanent" end to the war is confirmed.

Though it did not specify, it can be assumed that Israel is included as part of the guarantee, something which is likely to rankle many in the country.

When you surrender like Trump did you just have to smile and take it. Trump accepted the term of surrender.

Trump is desperate for a ceasefire to open the Strait, Iran smells blood and wants assurances for everyone the U.S. and Israel are attacking, not just themselves.
