Ok interesting. I have intense face pain/head ache pain esp around eye….. Wonder if I got it from a recent plane. What’s the incubation period? I’m in another country too… |
You don't seem to know what a pain score of 10 means. |
The face and mouth pain are no joke. Just got over Covid. No cough. Just massive congestion in ears and nasal, sore throat, fatigue and face/mouth pain that no amount of pain killer could touch. Also a little bit of stomach issues.
Good luck. The face pain took about 3 days to go away. Now, it’s just the fatigue and congestion. |
So the booster was super effective? And you wonder why people aren’t getting it. |
I'm the PP poster. In my case incubation period was 2 days. I am almost certain I got it from a kid in an unsanitary nail salon. I walked into the salon to get a lip wax. The place kind of seemed dirty. Two women were in there with a 3-1/2 year old boy. Boy was shoeless with filthy feet. (40 degrees) He had an extreme cough and and his face was blotchy red/white. Mom and another women were getting their nails done. I was kind of grossed out by it all. I should have walked out. Nailtech who was working on the Mom's nails came over to wax my lips. She did not wash her hands. Yikes. I was freaking out. I went home and rubbed alcohol all over my lips and face. I think the Nailtech transferred the disease to me on her hands or I got it airborne from the boy. Last time I had covid the primary symptom was the extreme (score of 10) face pain. I knew when I got the face pain again that I probably had covid and sure enough tested positive. For about 18 hour I had to put bags of frozen peas on my face and front of body. |
I'm so sorry for your loss of parent. |
That the vax keeps people from dying? No sh*t. Now, have you heard about masking? If you don't want to get sick, you should try that, too! Idiots... ![]() |
i don’t really under any the point. i got one covid shot when it first came out. haven’t gotten anymore since. Same goes for our entire family. we’ve had covid a few times and it’s definitely the most mild of all seasonal illnesses. bronchitis, strep and flu are wayyy worse. Who knows i could have had it more times than a couple, but i have run out to buy a test since 2021. waste of money. |
Yet most will not do any of that, except maybe wash hands. |
In my entire family, we have one person permanently disabled by post-COVID complications and another person dead. Seems wayyy worse than "seasonal illnesses" to us (and: not seasonal). |
Uptake of the new booster has been lower than expected in Germany as well, even with their targeted recommendation for just the elderly & vulnerable. This is tricky as the EU has contracted with Pfizer to receive a pre-set number of doses through 2027. The EU has already been struggling with an excess of vaccines from earlier in the pandemic as well:
"At least 215 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines purchased by EU countries at the height of the pandemic [2021] have since been thrown away at an estimated cost to the taxpayer of €4 billion, an analysis by POLITICO reveals. ... Many of these [doses] now lie in landfills across the Continent. ... The [Pfizer] contract has already been renegotiated by the European Commission under pressure from EU countries suffering from a vaccine glut. Both Poland and Hungary stopped accepting vaccines and are being sued by Pfizer for non-payment. ... In the meantime, the jabs will keep coming, with the revised contract with Pfizer locking European countries into buying vaccines until at least 2027." https://www.politico.eu/article/europe-bonfire-covid-vaccines-coronavirus-waste-europe-analysis/ |
There's no way you haven't had extended family members that died with influenza or pneumonia as a cause. People just didn't make a big deal about it when old/sick people expectedly died. |
Your comment lacks empathy. |
Is it better new vaccine for Covid in the works? If this one is unpopular and not effective enough then is at least a better one in the works? |
“ COVID-19 levels high ahead of holiday travel season..”
Oh no… Virginia in particular is “very high” https://www.axios.com/2023/12/19/covid-levels-cases-holiday-state-map |
