Given the very high bar to punish a former President, and given institutional caution on the part of the FBI and DOJ (except that fascinating moment when Comey declared Clinton was still under investigation right before the 2016 election - shows you whose side they're REALLY on!)... ... Nothing will come of this. The papers have been retrieved. There will be no slap on any wrists. But way to take the sails out of the White House's only important achievement (the climate change bill) and way to prime Trump's base for a possible Trump '24 run! |
