The truth is, it is authoritarian states that are the problem, and modern US liberal Dems are anti-authoritarian, while Republicans are pro-authoritarian.

Second, you live amongst many, many middle-of-the-road folks who tend to lean right for the sake of fiscal responsibility and national security.
