If a school flooded overnight, that would be a reason to close that one school. |
| We weren’t forecast to get a fifty year rainfall. Are there any DC schools which are prone to flooding? |
We closed AFTERCARE. All required educational hours were given in DCPS schools. Aftercare is not a mandated service. Yes it stinks that people had to pick their kids up at 330, but it’s not like there was a single educational impact because of this. |
I was thinking more of the impact on commuting to school. Plenty of roads are prone to flash flooding. |
Of course if we knew the weather would not be so bad then DCPS wouldn’t have cancelled aftercare. They didn’t know that this morning. |
Or, you know, this ONE allegedly exceptional day. I think you can handle it, especially if it's a trip short enough to be walking distance
|
| The closing early was out of line and messed up a lot of people’s work days. |
Well, Janney's aftercare was already canceled for the week due to delay in approving their covid protocols, so it was sort of a wash here. |
