Not much info on why it's closing. Any info?

Oh no!

Amazon (which owns the warehouse across the street) wants to expand.

I am sort of torn about the place. The actual indoor fields are decent after they replaced the turf. The facility itself for sure it run down and probably has some safety violations. We occasionally have done pickup games there and my kids have always have fun. St james doesnt have the indoor courts (field with walls) so it does offer something slightly different and usually at a different pricepoint. Maybe they demo it and build a new building. Not sure why someone would want to shut it down but probably something behind that.

Surprised they still held futsal games yesterday. Other leagues are waiting a few weeks.

Can anyone give a full list of indoor soccer spots in the DMV?

No, because whomever attempts to do it will leave out your mom's house.

Cant wait til they tear down this place. Nothing but hacks there. The St James is nicer with a classier crowd. No dirty play or fights there.

The STJ would be perfect if only they had the walls between fields. Losing balls easily eat 2 or more minutes, multiply it by the times a team loses the ball results in several lost minutes.

The sportsplex fields are fine/good. The building itself and "refereeing" is total garbage, which make the fees exorbitant.

There is no competitive balance within the "leagues".

It had a good run for almost 20 years. Is it anyone's full time job? The points of contact all seem to be coaches in the area.

Look, get off the computer and go do your homework. Grownups are discussing things here.

Really? I sat in the St James stands Sunday night surrounded by a bunch of maskless Redneck spectators....even after getting multiple emails or texts about the 'mandatory mask' policy.

St James is definitely a bunch of Trumpsters. But their facility is nice.
