Are the current conditions unhealthy? |
during summer yes. A couple of years ago my kid played a game there when the fan was broken. The kids seemed ready to pass out and a couple were pulled after getting dizzy |
Oh please. We have played there for years without incident. |
A bit, but not so much that I would refrain from sending my vaccinated 13 year old there to play futsal. |
I thought they did a good job enforcing the rules during peak covid. 1 parent per player and dedicated entrances for entry/exit. Sanitizer stations. It was weird to see it so empty but games still being played. The draw back now is the folks running the summer/winter leagues are a hot mess. Nicole I think was the admin before and had things organized. It seems like a free for all now, especially for the little kids. |
Foot skills over emphasized in youth soccer!!! Do you want them to play like Barcelona with 100 passes before a shot on goal! The fields are small and conducive to an exciting fast-paced match. By the way, foot skills is what you should practice in indoor soccer. |
I get what you're saying. I'm Hispanic and I stay away from that place, so do all my other Hispanic friends. That's not what I want my kids to see or deal with. |
Footskills are often misused when a direct or into space pass is the much smarter play. I hate when I see parents applaud excessive dribbling instead of making the correct soccer play. Im not looking for 100 passes Just the correct soccer play. |
I agree the showmanship aspect is celebrated in the latin culture. Which is a factor in why they haven't gained any ground on the European players. The focus of development is totally in the wrong areas of the game. |
Are you out of your f’n minds? And can you please stop using Latin when you mean Central/South American, unless you are sweeping Spanish and Portuguese players into these preposterous and incorrect observations? |
What continent is Central America officially considered? Why is the PPs observations preposterous? |
Indeed. The sportsplex is significantly less dangerous to 13 year olds than the vaccine. |
You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about |
OK Miguel Last time I checked a pass travels faster than a dribble 9 out of 10 times. |
Let's stay focused on what we're talking about. This is most likely the U9 to U11 youth teams. If you're talking about indoor, if you're talking about indoor footskills is the appropriate and correct aspect of a players game to work on and improve upon. Movement off the ball is encouraged but there is tight space, best to learn now how to beat someone 1v1. Outdoor soccer in those age groups is still about self-improvement, at least it should be. Passing into space is done by the all youth travel teams, however there is nothing incorrect about a youth soccer player attempting to take on another player, regardless of their skin color, racial makeup, nationality. A counter might be that if the person unsuccessfully attempts a 1v1 move and is stripped, they have made a mistake and it cost the team possession, maybe a goal. A appropriate response would be that both players involved in that play are learning and improving. Parents that ascribe value to indoor league wins see thing the way you do, and it is not correct. |
