Jesus Christ, just go to Eater, Infatuation, Yelp, etc. There are extensive lists of great restaurants in every neighborhood, every cuisine. Do your own work!

OK what is the point of this. If you don’t have anything to add then don’t post. The whole point of DCUM is to get ideas from people. Of course the OP could do research but he or she is trying to narrow things down that’s the entire point. Why do you need to be an ass?

The fact that so many people are being so rude and refusing to recommend restaurants confirms my opinion that NY has a few superb high-end restaurants, a handful of good neighborhood restaurants, and a metric ton of mediocre restaurants that either cater to tourists or appear to be fronts for money laundering. They other option is that they really didn’t know, and just don’t want to admit it.

No, what’s going on is that I have 100 recommendations and would like OP to narrow down her price, cuisine and location range so I don’t waste my time. She’s lazy and I’m not helping her, even though I live in NYC and go out to eat multiple times a week.

Not OP, but I am heading to NYC with my teen in a few weeks and am looking for a traditional Italian restaurant rec in Chelsea area, something kind of old school with great food. I don't want to pay super high end prices but doesn't have to be cheap either.

I've read a bunch of web recommendation lists but the options are overwhelming and was hoping someone can just tell me where to go. We already have plans for sushi and Korean on other nights.

Thanks!

Da Andrea in the Village is what you’re looking for. Reasonably close to Chelsea on 13th between 5th and 6th.

NP, can anyone recommend restaurants in the Central Park south area (sorry, not sure what that neighborhood is actually called). Looking for somewhere I can carb load the day before the marathon. Pasta, rice dishes, etc?

I’ve had decent Italian at Pazza Notte on 6th. There’s better Italian in the city, but it’s pretty dependable for the location.
