The one thing I can say with confidence this admissions season is that high stats kids I know...

I loved Roll Tide until your post saying they are an anti-vaxxer Trumper. Roll Tide, is it true?

Yeah, maybe so. Up there with the DCUM legends. He had us going.

Congrats! Make sure you get the dorm locked down early—don’t know if it’s still true but it used to be true that the honors dorm was not big enough for all honors students so you had to put the $$ down fast.

Whoa. Where is all this coming from? I actually just got my second Pfizer shot yesterday, and my kid got his first. Show me a single thread where I've advocated against vaccines, or for or against any political candidate. Yes, my kid wants to attend a school without heavy-handed covid restrictions, especially now that he'll be fully immune by the time he gets to campus, and I support that because it's just common sense. Why should he be forced to wear a mask and stay six feet away from others, including the coeds who attracted him to the school in the first place, when he isn't a threat to anyone? But that's a far cry from being some anti-vax conspiracy theorist. Roll Tide!

Would make sense they have their own parking. As a graduate, they will be valet parking attendants.

Well, I’m from Tucson so my perspective is biased (and I didn’t go to the UofA) but the graduates I know are aeronautics engineers, marine biologists, doctors, judges, CEO of a major biotech company, etc. I would say that the STEM departments are quite good, as is Econ. Generally less impressed with English, History, etc. The Honors program in particular is competitive and AZ has several programs designed to keep the top kids in state.

OMG how old are you that you refer to women as “coed”? I’ve never heard anyone born after 1955 use that phrase.

Yeah, it's a man's world but now we have to let the women in, which is fine as long as they're hot.

Goodness this is why people feel like they can't post. They use one word you don't like and you need to ridicule them? So like your number one goal is to be in an echo chamber? You are the worst.

Roll Tide, I assume you know you're fine, but ignore these people, please.

We joke here, but I think you really hit a nerve with these people who want to believe that they are right and that huge swaths of people are wrong and dumber and worse than them. Having to be on a path mentally where they would consider something different (University of Alabama is a good choice, with a lot to offer, for a smart kid) really shakes their foundation. They can't take it.

It's not the college at all. It's the male gaze that Roll Tide feels compelled to express over and over and over. Once was cute and humorous, maybe even twice. But I don't think a day has gone by that RT hasn't mentioned the "coeds" or the "talent" or the "tail" that his child will be chasing.
