It was a lot more than that. Are you with MCPS (want to keep it quiet) or a parent that was in the Chewy group (are hoping to keep it quiet)?

Then tell us what it was.

No need. Everything comes out in time. This one was so so bad that MCPS can't hide it forever - no matter how hard they try to deny.

Some folk just like to make trouble. Hints of scandal.

There's nothing to see here, or we'd see it.

There is an open house on the 28th for all the admitted students where I am hoping that people who may not have met Mrs Snyder will get to.

The same one that split the class into Yoda and Chewy? You've got to be kidding me. She shouldn't be a teacher.

Those were for spelling groups. I never had a problem with there being more than one spelling group.

Seriously. These were only spelling groups. And FWIW we asked our kid be switch to the other group and it was NBD.

Ya my kid switched from one group to the other to be with their friend. There was no difference and anyone who thinks otherwise is mental.

Ignore the troll and don’t feed it.

My DC was in that class... Those were Spelling groups based on your child's performance on the pre-test. I believe the teacher said the program was "Words their Way". Even gifted students are working at different levels. We had an excellent experience, and found the rigor helped our child grow and reach their potential. They were very prepared for Middle School.

My kid was into spelling so the teacher let them do both groups. I couldn't see any difference and asked them about it because I was curious. They said it was just for fun.

What is your issue, PP? We were in the class and it was a great experience. Perfect? Nope. But no school year has ever been. This feels like a weird personal vendetta against the teacher, who did their best and it was a fine year.

She was a hard teacher in that she had high expectations of the kids but also my kid who is now in 8th grade learned more that year than any other.

No, my was in Yoa but asked to participate in both because they enjoy spelling. She said that was fine because it didn't make any real difference.

Similarly, DD was in Yoda also but was allowed to move to Chewy so they could be with their bestie. There was no real difference between these groups as far as most were concerned. One parent who also told me their child was in the highest compacted math class seemed to think so. I also thought that was nonsense because compacted math has a set curriculum and all the classes had kids with a range of abilities. I think it just goes to show that some parents are just hypercompetitive and look for these things even when they don't exist.
