Yep. CYA did this a while back. LMVSC more recently. And countless others over the years. The sad thing is everyone loses. There are no winners. Not the club. Not the coaches. Not the kids. The goose with the golden eggs always dies in the end. |

Yes - but only since Total Futbol got involved. Prior to that Herndon wasn't a good club at all. |

That sounds pretty ridiculous to be a club with top performing teams and they wouldn’t have a league, I seriously would doubt NCSL declining the offer to have top teams in their league of someone with the recognition that NM brings to the league. On the flip side, that probably isn’t their first choice anyway. |

That is so true, I remember before TF was around in Herndon, the program struggled and found little success. |

Yep. The difference between the TF teams and the others was like night and day. Herndon's behavor in this case is appalling as well as stupid. |

Hah. While I have no knowledge of this particular situation, this would be the classic oft-repeated reason for a youth soccer club imploding - petty jealousy. Oh - what hope is there for us? |

What reason does Herndon need? TF might get a few kids the real joke will be when TF can't even field a team let alone a boys and girls club. Just becausw you have a few kids switching doesnt mean you can start a club. Herndon will get the last laugh |

No they won't. No-one will get the last laugh. Herndon have discarded their coaching staff and will implode just as TF will. And FWIW it appears as if Herndon behaved with a total lack of integrity - attempting to hire away the employees of their contractor. |

Herndon made a philosophical change: to be home grown and in house and stop farming it out. Lots of reasons for that. Herndon willing to con to but with coaches if they are part of Herndon club. Lots of reasons for that TF now offers “coaches” running U9 u10 and U12B tryouts per website. But : “**Age groups dependent on interest. Combining of age groups may occur.“ That coach posted bio: Our youngest staff member, has worked with the Lil' Kickers DMV program for years. His experience with the youngest ages will help them develop the technical skills and social awareness to succeed as they grow So why would anyone leave an established program to be coached by the Lil kickers coach ? |

This is fine. I think it was a very bad decision but Herndon are entitled to make such a decision. If they wish to make such a decision then they should terminate their agreement with Total Futbol. What they should not do, and what is highly unethical, is to directly approach coaches that work for Total Futbol and offer them jobs.

Because the TF coaches are good and have an established track record of developing soccer players and creating winning teams. Herndon without TF was hopeless and will likely become so again rapidly. See CYA and LMVSC for examples of what happens when clubs fall out with good coaching staffs. Not only do they lose good coaches, but no other good coach wants to go there because they see how the club treats them. The best thing Herndon could do right now for itself, for the kids, and for TF is to get on its knees, apologize and ask TF to go back to the way things were. No idea if TF would accept that offer at this point though given Herndon's behavior. Nobody wins out of this - TF is going to be irreperably damaged too - but Herndon is the villain of the piece. |

No dog in the fight (not a TF or Herndon parent), but come on some of the bios of the Herndon coaches are not much better than what PP states above.
Herndon has E/F licensed coaches or no licensed coaches too. It is interesting that Herndon bios don’t mention the former clubs that some of the coaches used to coach at - like CYA. Some of the Herndon coaches have really club hopped. https://www.herndonyouthsoccer.org/travel/coaching-staff |

Herndon will be fine. TF on the other hand.... No league, no fields, only a handful of teams. Sounds like NM should have considered his position before packing it in. Herndon made offers at least that would have kept coaches and teams intact. TF were the ones who decided to walk away. They share some responsibility in this as well.
My understanding is that McLean doesn’t allow him to coach NM to coach their teams as a TF coach. Herndon has every right to ask the same. |

Stop with clubs 'recruiting' players from other clubs! Some clubs offer better products and players gravitate to those clubs. It's the players choosing to move. |
