Fox's argument is that their lies were protected speech because they were simply reporting claims made by the president.

If they get away with this (and Trump wins in 2024) they'll have established a precedent where they can legally spread any lie as long as they use Trump to launder it. Truly chilling.

Has the highest cable “news” rating. Their rating are a small part of the whole new(tv and cable) market. ABC, NBC and CBS network news has about 21 million viewers. Fox has 2.2. This is why they always say cable news.
