“We” told who? Who are you and who do you think you’re talking to?

Given that this virus is almost exclusively airborne, banning manipulatives is anti-science and absurd, whether you acknowledge that or not. The “any single thing” that can compromise safety is bringing kids back in the buildings, so try again.

We as in teachers . We told you and told you concurrent was not normal school . For some reason people felt that was us trying to “scare” you into not picking it. It wasn’t, but you still didn’t want to listen and see now shocked at what concurrent is.

Rules lile this seem intended to hurt students because teachers are pissed. You should be ashamed. This rule is not based on science and does nothing to reduce risk. It just make schools and teachers look uninformed and vindictive.

You think TEACHERS make these rules? LMFAO. Grow up.
See PP from a teacher gloating about how shitty they're making hybrid. Absolutely no concern for their students.

That’s literally not what my comment said. It said we told you concurrent was not normal school. Why? Because there’s lots of safety policies like this that the DISTRICT created. You don’t have to like them all. I don’t. I think the desk shields in particular are stupid. I have no more say than you. It’s the cost of schools feeling like they can do in person school in a pandemic. Again, grow up.
This isn't a safety policy. It's safety theater. I'm 100% fine with steps that keep teachers safe. I even have spent a lot of time advocating to make things safer for teachers. I hope teachers are pushing back on stupid rules for the sake of their students. As far as I can tell teachers are only advocating for themselves. Hence, virtual PE at their desks desks 5 yos with no movement or manipulatives.

We can push back but it doesn’t mean it changes. Quit blaming teachers for all the ways your life isn’t perfect in a pandemic. God.
The principal told parents last week that kids could have in person PE outdoors. This week the policy is that no teacher can interact with more than one group of students, so PE will be at their desks without movement. This "policy" for just our school came about from teacher pressure. It’s not APS policy. It's not CDC policy. It's a rule that our principal made up. Just like the new rule that no materials can be given to kids, including library books. If parents don't push back on the ridiculous, kids are going to be hurt for no safety reason. APS has chosen to let individual schools make their own rules. Yes, I'm frustrated. No, I will not "stay in my lane" while teachers push for and principals enact unnecessary policies that hurt students.

Has PP considered that your kid may have to quarantine at any point? THAT is what I’d me more interested in discussing and learning about.

“My kid’s teacher just decided they all have to quarantine because she wants to teach at home again. Wow 10 day vacation.” I can see it now.

You have no idea if it came from teacher pressure. You really don’t. You’re assuming because that feels better for you. Principals are making choices. Teachers have never dictated what principals do, I promise you.

I believe teachers are going to do the very best they can teaching concurrently during a pandemic. No one went into this field thinking they wanted to do a bad job. It is much easier to start off strict abs then loosen things up than to go back the other way. You absolutely should stay in your lane.

The teacher doesn’t decide that, asshole. If I told you how many kids have already told me they’ve had to quarantine, I think you’d be less worried about manipulatives. The teachers are vaccinated- I’m hoping they don’t make me come in just to teach to an empty classroom so that you will be satisfied.

Yeah you can’t read sarcasm. That was the point. Some people blame teachers for everything.
