Snowvid - what are you cooking?

Just add ketchup or BBQ sauce to the meatloaf. Or prepare a slice on bread as a sandwich. You can find a way to suffer through it.

Or better yet - freeze in single serving portions so your DH can pull out a slice whenever he has a craving.

Turkey chili in the crockpot, go outside and play in the snow, come back and the food is ready. You know there's alot to put on and take off when there is snow. Then, they get wet when you come back in. So, I don't like to spend the time cooking when I come in. At some point, we will shovel the sidewalk. Not too many people walking so, it's ok. Plus, I think it's easier to walk on top of the snow than to walk on pavement that has been cleared and now frozen on top. The cleared sidewalks are slippery than the snow.

I have a 10 pound Cuban pork shoulder that's been slow roasting in the oven for the past eight hours. Have about two more hours to go. I'll serve it with these black beans and some rice: https://mountainmamacooks.com/quick-20-minute-cuban-black-beans-recipe/ We'll use the pork for various things, including for BBQ pulled pork sandwiches later this week.

That's 2 meals at 1/4lb per person. Doesn't seem excessive. (Unless your kids are like 1 and 3. I'm sitting here ten years down the road and a 13 yo boy can inhale more food than you can imagine.)

By the time it shrinks down after cooking, unless you added a loaf of bread as a filler, you’re not going to have much left over.

Guys? We ate this thing last night. It's freaking massive. It is what it is. Your blah blahing doesn't change my dismal reality.

I can’t remember the last time someone cooked a meal for me. I’m not sure I’d be complaining about this. And I don’t even eat meatloaf. But to have a few nights off from cooking because someone else did it sounds so nice.

Well, sorry you married a loser. My husband and I both cook. That's a fair and normal division of labor. I'm sure he doesn't love every single meal I make, too. And I'm not a fan of three nights of meatloaf. That's life. I hope things get better for you.

NP. You aren’t very nice. Enjoy your dry 3 day meatloaf.

Thank you NP pp. My husband is so far from being a loser, he just doesn’t cook dinners. I do think sometimes though, that it must be nice to have someone cooking for you.

NP. Then...why don’t you ask him to cook? My husband makes a few meals a month, and it’s really nice.

I’m pretty sure this wasn’t me but we’re having a crazily similar menu. I didn’t put potatoes in my masoor dal (red lentils). Have also made idli with peanut chutney. And fava beans, Peruvian corn and yellow potatoes. But otherwise, menu is the same.
