+1 on the bean soup with leftover Christmas ham bone.

I did this one last week! Today I am making beef stew.

That's 2 meals at 1/4lb per person. Doesn't seem excessive. (Unless your kids are like 1 and 3. I'm sitting here ten years down the road and a 13 yo boy can inhale more food than you can imagine.)

By the time it shrinks down after cooking, unless you added a loaf of bread as a filler, you’re not going to have much left over.

Guys? We ate this thing last night. It's freaking massive. It is what it is. Your blah blahing doesn't change my dismal reality.

I can’t remember the last time someone cooked a meal for me. I’m not sure I’d be complaining about this. And I don’t even eat meatloaf. But to have a few nights off from cooking because someone else did it sounds so nice.

Well, sorry you married a loser. My husband and I both cook. That's a fair and normal division of labor. I'm sure he doesn't love every single meal I make, too. And I'm not a fan of three nights of meatloaf. That's life. I hope things get better for you.

I made pho tonight. Tomorrow for lunch we'll have tortellini. What I really want to make is lamb curry and deal.

Thank you NP pp. My husband is so far from being a loser, he just doesn’t cook dinners. I do think sometimes though, that it must be nice to have someone cooking for you.

Why is it dismal? Did you not like it? (Why did you eat it if you didn't like it?) Am confused.

Did pan pizza, kale soup, pressure cooker roast chicken finished under broiler, popovers.

Going to do pan pizza again, maybe baked tofu and fried rice.

NP here who loves meatloaf. My menu for this week is set, but you've inspired me to add it to next week's. Thank you!

-- Family of 2 adults + 2 kids. I make my meatloaf with a slice of bread, splash of milk, 1 egg, 2 lbs ground meat + seasonings. We eat about 2/3 of it for the first meal, and a couple of us have the leftovers for lunch later in the week. Open-face meatloaf sandwich w/ mushroom gravy FTW! It's definitely not too much for our family of 4.
