Yes but imagine having this conversation 8x a day for your entire life. Like if you have a port wine stain on your forehead and 8x a day, someone comments on it and says how exotic it makes you look. |
Pretty sure name discrimination like this is at least *borderline* against the law. Also, I hire and I ask basically everyone to pronounce there name lest I get it wrong. How else might you know whether it’s ‘Carol-Lynn or Caro-Line?’ Or ‘Matthew or Matt?’ Or ‘Maria or Mariah?’ |
My DD has a friend named Xochi and it isn’t a problem for her at all. Everyone loves her name. |
And I bet she hears multiple times a day how much someone loves her name. Or asks her if it means anything. Or asks her what country her name is from. |
Sorry, haven't read the thread. Did someone mention the chips yet? |
Go for it if you want it.
But know that it has two problems- no one can pronounce and most won’t know that it’s a girl name. I have a friend with a similar Chinese name that begins with an X. Her signature says “ms.” Because she got sick of having letters sent to mr. another colleague has a pronunciation guide in his signature. |
I had a friend with the name growing up. She pronounced it “So Chee”. I don’t remember any issues.
I don’t love it, but assuming it is a part of her heritage and you do love it, go for it. |
I think it’s nice. I’m not Mexican and I’ve heard the name before. I’d say go for it. |
I like it. I have a thing for names using the letter x, which is the best letter in the alphabet. |

I love it. |
Uchenna is a Nigerian name. |
As someone who has had to constantly explain my name, I say no.

OMG please do not name your daughter Lily. |
