When does newborn stage get easier?

I had a baby who had a bad latch and also nursed for 45 minutes. He got more efficient at nursing with age. Maybe around 8 or 12 weeks I wasn't chained to the couch for hours a day.

I did have baby blues or depression. My state of consciousness was so altered I didn't realize until it lifted.

6 weeks for me. Baby slept an 8h stretch for the first time at that age. I did not breastfeed much so YMMV. I felt like nursing amplified the misery.

I felt a lot better around 8 weeks. To be honest I started babywearing and found myself a lot more mobile than with the stroller so I wore my kid and went to museums and other places (this was preCOVID). I felt a lot better.

Sometimes a little thing just clicks for you and makes it work.

I think 6 months is when the fog lifts.

Babywearing does make moving around so much easier. It is NOT great for the pelvic floor so if you have severe or moderate prolapse, etc., don't recommend, but it is a mental health boost to be able to move around hands-free!

The great news is...you're already 4 weeks in! Soon the kid will start being worth it by smiling and giggling and giving you some feedback for all the work you're putting in.

Your DH needs to give you 1-2 hours of you time everyday. Yes, he's working, but I think that tending to a baby all day is a much heavier lift. With those precious minutes you can poop by yourself, shower, exercise, go for a walk and answer to no one. That's what I looked forward to each day. Having DH come home so I could be by myself for a minute.

Wow lol

For me it was: 6 weeks (started to get on a schedule), 12 weeks (dropped another feed), and 4 months (sped up nursing).
