In a DC private? That’s ambitious. |
+1000 to whomever is confused here, there may be internal politics going on anywhere, but the constant leftist politics found mentioned above makes it an insufferable echo chamber. Check out how “outsiders” feel: read what the school proudly put out in the student newspaper. And no, the supposed academics don’t make up it. |
I’d have thought it would be tough to beat having a Maret senior admin official tell me that because I voted for Bernie Sanders in the primary I was a Trump supporter. |
|
You threw away your vote. You couldn’t make a decision between the first and second horses so you picked one way behind.
Don’t do it in the nov election. Same for jo Jorgensen libertarians. Make a real decision, make your vote count. |
They love group think disguised as "woke." |
Thanks for the much needed laugh! |
|
Aw man, I’m still writing in Bernie.
Don’t like Trump and as a rape victim am not voting for Biden. |
Just don’t tell Maret admin! |
LoL. So right. Get your kid into both schools and then come back here and ask. |
Agreed on this point... and I say this with no negativity at all (being a bleeding heart liberal, myself). |
This is a myth, especially for non upper schools. My advice would be not to apply to any school that seems extreme in a way you are not. It’s very hard to keep holding your nose 4-8 years. |
Seems like it would be harder at a small school like Maret. There isn’t anywhere to go if you don’t fit in the school mold. |
All of DC areas private schools are fishbowl size. 80-140 person classes, and way smaller in earlier years Except at John’s, they can field a decent team or club in anything. 250 a class. As for fit, a few schools are non stop about their non-academic mission and grooming. Maret is not one of them, in fact a couple progressives make other progressives look traditional. |
They are teaching a class on microaggressions this year. |
| Maret may have a small student body but GDS’s physical plant is pretty tight quarters now that they are all on the same city block. |
