Thanks all. OP here, and I am concerned about resale. For various reasons we may end up moving in a couple years, and so I want to keep resale and “trends” in mind. I think the look is lovely but So apparently does everyone else who has redone their kitchen in the past 10 years. I’m worried that it’s overdone and will be seen as over in a couple more years which is a concern for resale so appreciate everyone’s input. |
Seriously the main thing is the rest of your house. It doesn’t matter if the kitchen is “on trend” if it looks out of place. |
I completely agree. Our house is a renovated row home with a very neutral and small open floor plan on the main living area but with a (god forbid, exclaimed with Sarcasm) cherry cabinet and dark granite kitchen. |
In a situation similar to OP where we need to redo the countertops and backsplash. We have lived in our house for years but never redid the kitchen. Now we'll be moving in a year or two but need to redo the counters and backsplash. We will not be doing anything to the white cabinets. What is in enough that it won't look odd when we sell in a year or two but also won't break the bank? |
