Tell us about Swarthmore

One friend from HS in Greenwich Ct went there. He was from an extraordinarily wealthy family. He also suffered break-downs throughout HS and was under psychiatric care.

I have never needed psychiatric care until I became acquainted with DCUM.

Isn’t it pretty quirky? Their marketing materials were weird/funny in a way that totally turned my dd off. She refused to apply but I’m sure it may work for the certain kids that fit the culture there

Do they give scholarships (not the need based kind)? Good place for a STEMy kid with FANG job aspirations?

My sister is class of 2014 and got FAANG offers and so did her peers.

Swat will set you up for fang. You’ll have to be more proactive about networking though

If DC wants to major in engineering, can s/he avoid some of the liberal craziness? Or does it permeate the entire school?

Not as good as Grinnell, no. Need-based is very generous but there are very few merit awards at Swarthmore.
