MD and DC have higher murder rates than VA, yet VA has more liberal gun laws ... explain.

Its interesting how many of these DMV threads are generally about violence and violation. I wonder if the politicians are keeping up that public safety and order are concerns for people.

It is a concern. That’s why we want guns. To protect ourselves when the government doesn’t.

Paranoia is no joke. See a doctor.

Um, “paranoia” doesn’t mean what you seem to think it means.

Actually, “Paranoia” is a great song by Black Sabbath.

Anyhow, enjoy your fairyland where the government protects you and looks out for all your rights. Tell that to all the women whose rape kits were misplaced. If you don’t know what I am talking about, please do some reading. Also, I wear my seat belt and don’t smoke too. Is that paranoid?

There's truth to the joke: "Why do I carry a handgun? Because a police officer is too heavy". The reality is, police don't often make it on time to help victims of violence. A gun keeps an attacker a safe distance away.

My oh my. This has to be one of the most stupid questions I've seen.

*scratches head* It's almost as if American states have porous borders.....

As it should, and Maryland is much more lethally violent. Guns reduce crime, all the studies show crimes prevented with guns out number those committed with them.

All comparisons of same region similar demographic states shows those with more gun control have more violent crime.

Right on time- the “good guy with a gun” fallacy.

The “good guy with a gun” has stopped so many shootings and would-be shootings that it’s a dead meme now.

Too bad you weren’t keeping up

With what? Fox News? Show me the studies. There’d be no need for good guys with guns if it weren’t so easy for bad guys to get them. Plus, even “good guys” with guns seem to have fundamental problems with taking responsibility for their own stuff. Stolen guns account for a fair amount of gun violence.

The govt. can’t collect guns anymore than they can stop drugs or illegal immigration. Give it up. The gun control approach is simply a dollar short and a day late. Affect the user not the tool. That is the only hope.
