Why no headphones? Metro question

Same as when you're dealing with an aggressive driver, the best defense is to ignore and stay out of the way. I wear earbuds. If I'm reading, I play white noise. I have no desire to interact with anyone on the metro, regardless of race/age/socioeconomic status. I am happy to keep my bags out of the way and my head down. I avoid everyone equally.

It's really young people being clueless, and older young people trying to start something.

I only use one earbud on the metro, or put them in and don't turn any music on, just so I can be aware of my surroundings in case stuff goes down within earshot.

No, its really just OP and people who agree with her, needing to check their white privilege.

If she cant handle the city, she should just go back where she came from.
