Dead to Me

Just finished watching it, there has to be a Season 2. Started out slow and by the 2nd episode, I was hooked. I could not stop watching it.

I've loved James Marsden ever since he appeared on Second Noah (a 90s show that got cancelled too early).

Finished this show last night and have some questions. Is Judy totally unaware that Steve was selling her artwork for thousands of dollars?? She works a low-paying job at a nursing home and seems like she has no idea that just one of her paintings at Steve's gallery sells for $9,000! This was a strange plot twist that was never explained.

I really like this show, but there seem to be several unexplained/sloppy plot details. Anyone else notice this?

I assumed the sales of judy’s paintings were a way to launder money. But I didn’t fully understand Steve’s misdeeds. Something to do with Greeks and money.

He wasn't selling them for thousands - he was showing that on the books as part of his money laundering. It's the "layering" stage. Judy knows about the fake art studio front.

Well the one you pointed out was explained in the show (money laundering) so what are your other plot hole questions?

Yeah, great clothes. I think you can get similar stuff from the J Crew Point Sur line. (I feel like such a twerp/dweeb saying that but I think it's right.)

I watched Wine Country a few days after finishing Dead to Me, and started laughing because Amy Poehler wears the same exact sweater as Judy in one scene (I noticed b/c I loved that sweater on Judy). I wonder if Netflix has one big wardrobe closet that all the middle-aged women share.

Ahhh, thank you! I can’t believe I missed that.

I did not read this thread as I don’t want any spoilers. However I am on episode two and I’m finding this show stressful since I see that Judy and Steve are responsible for the husband‘s death. I hate shows like this, for some reason it stresses me out

Um that’s the plot. Imagine how stressed Judy and Steve are!

I actually love plots like this - figuring out how they’re going to cover it all up, etc. Sounds like maybe you shouldn’t watch anymore!

New poster. No spoilers!
Didn’t read the posts.

Can anyone tell me if it’s “girly”? Ala Gilmore Girls or Maisel?

Not particularly girly, IMO. Definitely not like those two shows ^^^, though there are definitely some funny moments.

I was a HUGE fan of both Freaks and Geeks, and ER. I always thought she was perfect for F and G. But on ER, I couldn't get over the feeling that she was very average and plain, especially for the love interest of Goran Visnjic. But I loved that! Anyway, yes, in Dead to Me, she's very attractive.
