Will we regret doing Disney World in July?

Sure, maybe DC is hot but Fl is generally more humid and has been hotter for longer, so pools, concrete, etc are even hotter.

And daily thunderstorms are a PITA.

WHY WHY WHY?

+1. Also, in DC it's hot and sticky, but I'm not spending tons of time outside in the summer, by choice (unless I'm adjacent to a beach or pool). If I'm hoping to have a pleasant vacation, I wouldn't sign up for hours in the sun and humidity at Disney World. YMMV.

I thought the kids and I would die of heat and humidity when I went to Kings Dominion in August. Cant imagine DW in their long lines (even with FP) and hordes of people.

Places like Kings Dominion and Six Flags have no place to cool off, whereas Disney provides many opportunities for your comfort. There’s no comparison.

+1. I've gone in July and August many many times and it does not deter me from going those times again.

We did it with our kids, but it’s too hot.

If you don't want to regret, just don't put yourself in that mindset.

We did Disney in late August, after southern schools were already in session. There were hardly any lines, and we used fast-passes for the more popular attractions that did have a bit of a line. It was hot. No hotter or more humid than DC, though. There is tons of indoor stuff to check out when you need to cool down. Plus side is that there are some great discounts during that time of the year. Kids were 5 and 9 when we went and had a blast -- very little complaining about the heat. I would trade short lines for heat any day. Waiting in boring long lines with kids is one of the circles of hell.
