You honestly believe that this forum is represented by the statement: " The desire for harmony or conformity is so strong that no one dares to say, “Wait a minute, this may not be such a good idea.” And it happens all the time in the workplace."???

"Rationalization of warnings, the tendency to overlook negatives, and the fear of challenging a decision".

Umm, this sounds like you have twisted a portion of a theory to explain why people simply don't see something the same way that you do.

Loosely based on what you highlighted as the most representative portion of the group think statement to this forum, "Rationalization of warnings, the tendency to overlook negatives, and the fear of challenging a decision" my guess is you see yourself as the loan contrarian willing stand up against the group and provide the masses the unfiltered truth as you see it. You have probably manifested yourself on a few of the most polarizing boards in this forum, likely ranging from Spirit to Barca. You are skeptical of any opinion and likely challenge the opinions at nearly every opportunity because you believe that any opinion not your own is not expressed based on face value but pushed to support an agenda.

You highly miscalculated your ability to analyze the information presented to you. However, your accusatory accusations leads me to believe that you are more than a casual poster

Your belief that this forum is dominated by group think leads me to believe that you are not a regular visitor.

Never said it was. I said that groupsource leads to groupthink.

Reading is fundamental

Except that it doesn't by the fact that there is no consensus anywhere on this forum. If crowdsource led to groupthink HERE it would already exist.

It was a nice point and in perhaps other applications the theory would hold but it is not valid description or predictor of behavior here.

They likely will, depending on the age group, but your best bet is to reach out to Coach Tom Torres at ttorres@washspirit.com -- he may have your daughter attend some practices.

They are already picking teams for next year? I thought tryouts are usually in May?

Picking teams now would be a stretch. They had their first ID session last weekend.

From reading previous posts, the initial ID session was well attended for the 06/07s but more ‘lightly attended’ for the 04s and 05s. They will be having another ID session in April. Do contact Tom Torres for more details.

He probably is much more than that. There are the same 2 posters that have monitored all things Spirit for a while. So it's not really group think. It's two person think.
