What do you all do to have hhi over $250k+?

Fed lawyer and architect who is a project manager at a construction company 310K + bonus
Anonymous
Fed senior IT staff - $95K
Law firm management - $220K + bonus

Late 30s/early 40s. Neither of us have moved in a while. We need the flexibility of the federal job and lower cost of insurance for small children; private sector has provided an opportunity for advancement every time boredom has approached.

It looks like many of you are in fed, law firm, big corp, etc. and many of you are in the field of law, IT, accounting, or NP.

Me, Fed with ~143k salary

Husband, Fed with 174k salary, plus substantial savings and investments from private law firm days.

Four grad degrees between us.

Me: Sustainability/energy management in private sector ($120k)
Spouse: Fed with PhD ($130k)

I think people with comparable education, experience, and specialties to ours are earning more. We both have jobs that allow us flexibility and no travel or overtime.

Two fed attorneys, 20 plus years, an SES and a GS 15-10. We make about 340K between us.

Marketing director for tech company - $170 plus stock
Consulting partner (non equity) - $380

Total around $550 (includes bonuses that can vary) plus my stock and pension for DH

Both in technology sales. Income varies from a bad year combined HHI of 480k to a good year of 700k. Plus Restricted Stock Units and ESPP.

One bachelors
One without a degree.

I'm considering tlquitting because I'm just tired and would like to not work for a few years. Hard to walk away from 240k-350k and slice bbn our income in half. We do have very very low expenses and college for the kids is fully funded.

I have to laugh. You're in technology sales and hate the technology (phone) you're using.

(and I know with your income, the technology you sell must be much more advanced. It just gave me a chuckle as a non-techie to read that)
