Should McLean Pre-ECNL players consider Spirit DA?

I posted previously in support of 08s considering Spirit over playing in NCSL again. Trust me, I am not with Spirit. I have never had a sense this was about Spirit trying to lure players, rather more about the quality of soccer the U11 and U12s face in McLean after CCL said goodbye. I am not sure why Loudoun and Arlington got to stay in CCL, but McLean doesn't, but there are several smart parents of good 08s that pay attention to this stuff. Spirit seems more supportive of playing playing up from other message boards, especially since they don't have a player pool until GFR this year. McLean is full of ambitious pre-ECNL players. DA anywhere sounds better then NCSL as many posters said previously. I agree that there is a poster on here who ruins the whole discussion by injecting crazy agendas and theories into all this. Fortunately I think most ignore him.

Agree with this completely. It stinks that we have to wade through posts about some fictitious Spirit PR campaign if they are ever brought up here. I definitely think it’s worth shot for McLean 08s to try to make the 07 team next year.

If you've seen McLean's 08s and the Spirit play-ups, I don't see why anyone thinks this is all that plausible. McLean's 08s are fine but not like the current Spirit play-ups - e.g. getting 3K juggles as 7 year olds, winning national small-sided tournaments, etc.

There are a number of good VA clubs if you are an 07 or 08 including McLean, Spirit, BRYC and Loudoun. You can’t go wrong with any of those clubs.

I would agree that for 08 or 07 playups Spirit is the best option. They have the most talented play ups and the team supports and develops play ups.
