My father graduated from GP and chose to send me to STA specifically because he didn't care for the culture at the school. He found it insulated and regressive 25 years ago and I think recent events have proven him correct. |
It’s a good piece that speaks to who they really are and not something others try to say they are. I get that the low brow types who post such vitriol here cannot understand that. |
+100. As a family sending a son to a Jesuit school, this is a major embarrassment to the concept of humility which we have tried to instill in our son. |
wahhhhaaaaaa. What a pathetic PR piece. Too bad there is no emoticon sucking its thumb and whining because it would be perfect for this article. |
Get over it. Prep has no reason to apologize to anyone. |
Way to long and rambling but that is so inappropriate that reporters come on campus snooping and they need to increase security. |
This is exactly why there is negative press. When will they learn? |

Agree. By the way calmer minds know that this whole thing never happened. Kavanaugh was set up. Will be so hard for him to get back his good name. |
It does not matter whether Kavanaugh did it or not. I am just unimpressed with how Prep handled the whole situation. The arrogant tone is unbecoming. It is a tone my DS sensed during his shadow visit and the reason he did not want to apply. Back then, we thought perhaps DS was just being too sensitive about how the boys behaved during his visit, but now I am so impressed with his accurate perceptions. |
Calmer minds know that Kavanaugh is an entitled a**hole who was rammed into office by the malicious machinations of Mitch McConnell (alliterations intentional). I went into the hearings with an open mind. I believe the #MeToo movement has gone too far in some cases, effectively removing from women the responsibility to speak up and set clear boundaries. However, Kavanaugh’s ludicrous statements and patently clear fabrications made it clear to me he was a liar. The final White Wail of Entitlement was what destroyed his reputation, leading over 1,500 legal scholars to sign a petition stating that he was unfit for the office of Supreme Court Justice. He is unfit to be a judge in any court. His extreme partisanship and lack of ethics disqualifies him. |
Yes STA has no issues at all that have been discussed on this forum. google doc by NCS about boys behaving badly and the Washington Post article about the Yearbook. Just boys being boys at STA. Right? https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/education/sexist-slurs-and-coded-insults-st-albans-school-2015-yearbook-stirred-outrage/2018/10/03/39c788d0-c4ab-11e8-b1ed-1d2d65b86d0c_story.html?utm_term=.e2ca1f8afec3 |
Perp supporters here are trying to deflect by pointing to problems at other schools - that just makes Prep look even worse. Own up to the bad behavior at your own school. It's been discussed on these boards for years, it was discussed at the Kavanugh hearings, it's been in other news reports, and it was even discussed in the Mark Judge book where he writes about getting drunk with "Bart O'Kavanaugh."
Quit whining about the problems you have, and instead DO something about them. |
So so true. Brett Kavanaugh was EXACTLY like he was portrayed in highschool and college as being by the media. And he himself confirmed it with his whining, petulant, childish-tantrum throwing, entitled, disrespectful testimony. Brett Kavanaugh is a DISGRACE to SCOTUS. |
