Go Prep! The rest of you can suck it!! |
You fellows must be so proud of this outpouring of civilized support. |
More civilized than the Prep protestors screaming obscenities at the parents and students as the kids are being dropped off for school in the morning. |
Served in Afghanistan, now working at Department of Justice. As a proud grad of an all-boys school (not Prep, and not even DC area), I'd like to think other graduates of my school would behave far more honorably than you're acting here. To be blunt, you disgust me. I sincerely hope you are not representative of Georgetown Prep. Disappointing. |
First, Thank you for your service, and I apologize for making an assumption about you, since I have never met you before. Second, how can you reasonably support the premise that the people I referenced are not heroes? Justice Kavanaugh aside, to argue that a MoH recipient, Olympic gold medalist or pioneer of chemotherapy is not a hero undermines your position. Yes, my views represent most (not all) Prep graduates, so I am sorry that I disgust you. Don’t worry. Prep isn’t going anywhere and will continue to produce heroes. |
By the way, before you make assumptions about me, I am not white and did not grow up in Bethesda or Chevy Chase. I immigrated here at age three and speak English as a second language. I grew up in Prince George’s County. My parents owned a small business and faced discrimination, armed robberies (three to be exact), among many other challenges. Prep was (and remains today) the most inclusive community I have ever had the privilege to be a part of. My high school friends are still my closest and the ones I trust the most. I apologize to you for nothing. |
Congrats on your assimilation. ![]() |
So will communism and racism and rape and murder. |
Marine posting. I don’t want your apology. I want you to treat women with respect. Where I grew up, we would kick the crap out of anyone who posted something like that about our mothers, our sisters, or any of our female friends. I hope you’re just young and immature, and that you’ll grow up sometime. I’m disappointed other Prep grads (or their parents) are not calling you out right now. Strange and sad that it falls to some outsider like me. Show some honor and class for chissakes. |
I posted nothing about women. I’m focused on the negative and inaccurate portrayal of my high school alma mater. I’m probably older than you are since I was born in the 60s. I respect the hell out of anyone who served our country, especially a Marine, but get off of your moral high horse. |
four primary benchmarks to assess immigrant assimilation: socioeconomic status, geographic distribution, second language attainment, and intermarriage.
How many benchmarks do you meet? |
All four—proudly. |
In not one his posts did he attack a woman. The person that made the Renata statement is obviously not a Prep poster but someone commenting about the meaning of the yearbook during the Kavanaugh hearings. |
Your post is bizarre as you are one of the elite. You went to prep, college and marines as an officer and probably did what, 4 years max. I respect those who do their 20, at least do 10-12 before you take real bragging military rights. |
I grew up in Chevy Chase. Way back in the 70-80's the prices were reasonable (my parents paid $50K for a run down house) and it was where a lot of feds lived for the MCPS schools and easy commute. You cannot compare housing or life back then and now. Prep is not the issue here. Its the parents and how they raised their kids and what they allowed. Everyone is focusing on the school and nothing happened at school. It was off school grounds and not during school hours. Parents need to parent their kids and know whats going on and set limits. |
