We've actually never had a financed or leased car. We drove beaters when we couldn't afford nice cars cash. I think the trend of financing more and more of a car means people are buying cars they wouldn't normally be able to afford.

I personally like cars because I can drive fast around corners and off ramps and not tip over. I can even accelerate all the way around a corner while hugging the inside line. It’s much more fun to drive.

Car crash testing has normally been on an offset where two driver sides are hitting one another head on as in on a two lane road. Manufacturers have neglected the passanger side because it wasn't tested. Turns out you're in bad shape in the passanger side if a tree is hit. half of all accidents are single car.

I drive a Lexus RX350- paid cash for it (after trade in) 5 years ago. We drive our cars for 7-8 years, trade in and pay cash difference.

This. I purchased a sporty car while I was stationed in Texas. Now I regularly drive it 25 mph here in DC.
