DP. Please. The amount you pay in taxes doesn't buy you a better public school experience. Sheesh. |
Where? |
OP here. Obviously, we rent! But our neighbors pay a LOT. |
You first. |
Hate to break it to you but you are paying your landlord's property taxes for him. |
Yep, I would guess Haycock too. We have several friends who paid a fortune to purchase a home in this district only to pull their kids for privates in the end. Terrible administration and huge overcrowding problem. |
Not Haycock. |
Madison Wisconsin, Basking Ridge NJ, suburbs of Hartford and Boston. |
Yes, and if the landlord is original owner, or close to that, then you can tell how much less he is paying in taxes. The $1k per $100k + is for the newer houses. |
Same areas. Different experience. |
OP, how it is obvious that you rent? Also, did it occur to you that you are part of the problem? All the renters moving into the good HS districts just in time for their kids to go to high school, thus crowding the local high school, and then moving on right after graduation? I'll bet you are in a Langley, McLean or Madison neighborhood. |
| The school the OP is talking about has got to be Cooper Middle School. The principal is just awful - she's been there for an eternity. She doesn't like any parent participation. The catchment area is huge but the school does nothing to make any of the children feel welcome or try to integrate the kids at all. |
Langley is not crowded (see the OP), and most McLean and Madison parents are happy with the current leadership teams. If I had to guess, I'd say Yorktown or Oakton, but who knows (and OP has said she won't say). |
Wrong. It is crowded AND dismantled. |
Got it. Renters not allowed. Who else isn't allowed? What if I am Asian? |
