At what age do boys start to get crushes?

My 11 yo denies crushes. There is a 5 yo little girl who can’t contain herself around him. Yesterday at the pool she ran up to him and hugged him and pulled his hand and said let’s go play. At one point she got really close to him (touching) and picked him up. He was amused by how strong she is. He didn’t seem to mind but was not thinking about her as she begged him to not leave. I was like ?. He mother starred too.
