Is Laura Dern pretty?

Ben Harper is so hot and I was also surprised by them—but then again, he doesn’t seem superficial.

I just watched some Wild At Heart clips. 1) No, she is not attractive. Even back then. 2) Thank God I never watched that movie. It looks stupid, depressing and really weird.

That’s actually how it came up! Laura Linney is in a tv show (Ozarks) that I’m bingeing. One coworker mixed her up with Laura Dern saying she loved her in Certain women. I corrected her and said Laura Dern was in Certain Women. That’s when she said “Oh, she’s so pretty!” And the gushfest began. I even pulled up her photo to confirm.

Sorry to derail but how are you liking Ozark? So good, right? I also love Jason Bateman so that helps

Yes, strikingly unattractive.

She's not strikingly unattractive. Strikingly unattractive is can't tear your eyes off of someone at a PTA meeting they're so remarkably hideous. She is at a minimum, average and not your cup of tea.

If you can’t decide, the answer is no.

Btw, what is so great about her figure? She’s thin, but she’s built like a tall skinny boy—no frills, no thrills.

Have you been asleep the past twenty years? That's what is considered attractive these days.

I love it! Netflix’s suggestions have been spot on for me.

She's what I'd describe as being a handsome woman. Reese Witherspoon is pretty.

By whom? Women who are attracted to tall skinny boys? That build is not typically preferred by men. The vast majority of heterosexual men that I know prefer women with slim athletic builds, with some curves (hips, bottom and you breasts—the amount of curves preferred depends on the man).

This is true.

“The ratio of waist-to-hip girth is a simple shape measure which is a consistent index of how attractive men (and women) find women’s bodies. Lower is better, but within limits. Men lust after women with ratios about 0.6-0.7, a range that happens to include Kim Kardashian (0.65), Angelina Jolie (0.66) and Scarlett Johansson (0.72). The average young woman scores about 0.75, models 0.70, porn stars and supermodels 0.69 and Barbie 0.56.”

“Clearly, men see the "perfect" woman as significantly shapelier than females do, with Kim K's busty chesticles, Megan Fox's face, the wavy, sexy hair of ScarJo, Michelle Keegan's toned tummy, Kelly Brook's curvy hips, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley's long stems.”

Double sorry to derail but I watched the 1st episode and couldn't get into it. Please tell me that it is THAT good so I try again?? Please. I LOVE Jason Bateman and Laura Linney.

As for Laura Dern, she may not be a classic beauty but she is such a fine actress that her talent more than makes up for her not having Vogue-cover looks. I like her a lot and I think she's attractive but pretty... meh!

And smart and socially aware. She's seems like an interesting person to talk to. She grew up in the biz so she knows how to handle it and seems to be well-respected within it. It's time we stopped asking if women are pretty, OP. There's more to her than that.

Great article to prove that Laura Dern in fact has the perfect waist-to-hip-ratio, preferred by most people. She seems like 0.7 - so not sure what the complain is about her not having curves?
