I would be LIGHTING SHIT ON FIRE. Seriously. It’s the lying about her behavior that really burns me up. My oldest has SN and was a behavior problem on field trips moreso tban school because it was out of the routine. They NEVER told me he couldn’t go. For one particular trip the teacher was like - I’m having trouble getting chaperones, it would really help me out if you came with Larlo. And I was like “NO problem.” She just asked For help - she wasn’t going to exclude him if I said I couldn’t make it!

If you can't go down there in person, and they don't respond today, perhaps they would respond if a lawyer friend called.

This isn't just a MCPS thing or just a ED thing. Last year my child was in a wheelchair for most of the school year. Twice her FCPS elementary school called me to say I would have to drive her to/from a field trip because they hadn't been able to get a bus with a lift. And both times when I made enough noise, they magically found one.

But the second time, the driver announced that because my child's chair didn't have the right kind of seat belt, he wouldn't use the lift. He was wrong, the belt was approved, but I had to come to school and show him the information online to get him to agree. The admins from the school did nothing to advocate for her, they just deferred to him and called me to come drive her.

I have never, not, once had a call returned by that group. Is it a scam?

They held up a whole field trip bus of kids rather than figure it out for themselves or call the transportation supervisor?

Hoping that things got resolved in the child’s favor today.
