Lol, if it is such a hidden gem, how come so many board members have transferred their kids to St Stephens?

+1000. See where ACDS kids are going these days. Some haven't even got into any private schools. They are starting to see an affect from the current HoS.

This is BS. Check out this post from 2009 before the new HoS arrived. Yes, there were still some kids going to public. And from what I've seen, many of them choose to go public.

When I was referring to St. Stephens/St. Agnes I meant where the 8th graders go for high school after ACDS ends. I wrote all the kids' recs so saw where they were all applying. Didn't see anyone applying to Maret or Sidwell or GDS--the only DC schools were Gonzaga, NCS and in MD I believe one Stone Ridge and one St. Andrews. Everyone else went to St. S/St. A or a few went to public.

Not true re Field. They are looking for kids that need what the school is offering. There is a bit of self selection occurring though.

This thread is so off topic. The OP never ONCE mentioned she was looking to ensure her child got into an "elite" DC private. NEWFLASH: not everyone worships at the feet of the so called elite schools. Please re-read the original post. The OP had a specific question presumably focused on the best school for her childs current needs. She wasn't asking for the yellow brick roadmap into HYP. Sometime I think these "elite" school parents live in such a smug little bubble and echo chamber they take any opportunity to bash others so they can reinforce their belief that they are so much better than everyone else.
