The better thing would have been to just reform the corporate rate, and leave the personal untouched. They were low enough.
But can you imagine the screaming the libs would have done then? |
Right. Tax hikes will be felt in 2019. After midterm elections. |
And, the whole point of this thread is about companies giving bonuses/wage increases because..............corporate tax cuts. Duh! (read the title of the thread) |
And? It doesn't change the fact that the uber rich are getting a better deal than the middle class, which was my point about the $1000 one time bonus. |
I don't think they'd have made nearly as much of a stink if this had happened. I'm not a liberal. I am a former R. We didn't need the tax cut for the uber rich to spur the economy. Capital gains tax is what helps with more business investments, not personal tax cuts. But a tax cut for the middle class could help spur the economy given that our economy is 70% driven by consumer spending. The huge tax cut for the 1% wouldn't make as much of a difference to economic growth compared to a 6% tax cut for the middle to upper middle class since they are the bulk of our society, not the 1%. It's not about total spending per person, but about total spending by all. |
