Flake and Graham are saying that Schumer is now on his own to line up votes against tomorrow’s vote. There were a few Dems that sided with the GOP.

Schumer has his work cut out for him.

Given how silent usual suspects sich as Warren Sanders and Gilli brand have been it looks like by tomorrow the vote will be 99-1 in favor of a cr with no daca. Schumer will only get kaka but no daca. Wasn't schumer paying attention to what happened to Bannon? You don't mess with the Main Man.

Do you mean Miller? Or Kelly?

No question about that. Unless GOP will go nuclear

McConnell knows better than that.

I hope so
That means circus will be back in town on Feb 8th

No because tonight McConnell said if the government was open he'd put forward legislation on all the open issues by Feb. 8. The cr impasse won't happen on Feb 8 because schumer lost and no one is backing him. Everyone except insane liberal partisans are blaming this on Schumer.

OMG you trust what McConnell says he's gonna do? Why?

Your assumption is that McConnell’s word is to be believed. His word has been shit up to this point, and there’s no evidence it won’t be again. Slim chance they bring DACA to the floor by the 8th.

Optics.

But they didn't get the government re-opened over the weekend, so I don't know why they need to hurry now. I'm also not sure Schumer will try too hard to get this vote to pass. I

Then Schumer will get blamed. He no longer has flake and Graham for cover. This cr is going to pass with well over 60 votes and will be Bi partisan. McConnell wouldn't be holding the vote tomorrow if he didn't think he could win. He already has all the votes he.needs.

Never ever trust Mitch McConnell. He is as slippery as they come.

Yep -- the liberal crazies will hold out to show how hard they fought (Schumer; Warren; Bernie etc.) but outside of that I think most moderate Dems will vote for the CR to re open the government. With Flake, Graham and McConnell now at yes -- they're up to 53. They only need 7 Dems and I think they have them.

And his word is to be trusted because?

McConnell promised Flake a December vote on DACA in exchange for Flake's vote on the tax bill.

He lied.

McConnell promised Collins action on Murray-Alexander in exchange for her vote on the tax bill.

He lied.

Even if he is being truthful on "action" on the issues he listed this evening, there is no guarantee that the House acts on it, so it is an empty promise.

turtle isn't the person that is in a position to make any demands.

schumer needs to deal with ryan and the president.

even if turtle agreed to put up various bills to vote on the senate floor, there is guaruntee that they would pass the house.

ignore turtle. Senate dems need to hold the line unless they get concessions from ryan and the wh.

Why do people call him turtle? Where does that come from? Curious as someone who normally doesn't follow politics?

Can anyone clarify what McConnell’s statement actually means? This doesn’t look like a promise to do anything.

McConnell said from the Senate floor Sunday night that "should these issues not be resolved by the time the funding bill before us expires on February 8, 2018, assuming that the government remains open, it would be my intention to proceed to legislation that would address (the expiring Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program), border security, and related issues."
