I don’t know why they think they need to send that out.

W cluster?

Woodson? Or the poster is from Maryland/NWDC and referring to the elite "W" high schools -- Whitman, Wilson and one other I can to remember, but it starts with a W

VA Schools forum, so maybe Woodson is it?

Translation: We are going to delay school at very least, and we don't want you to be pissed off at us, so we're giving you a heads-up now.

There's so much speculation, for cancellation, delay, or no delay. FCPS wanted everyone to know that they hadn't forgotten, are paying attention to the weather (and to social media).

They are predicting somewhere between flurries and a dusting in the immediate DC area. Probably less than the slight dusting we had in Falls Church this morning. I told my junior that he shouldn't expect to sleep in until 8.

I think many people would be shocked to find out the bureaucrats get paid for all these days off.

In the real world, no work, no pay.

But they've voted themselves free paid days off. The bureaucrats can't resist.

I think they are modeling MCPS' approach which, it seems from the MD public schools forum, a lot of people liked -- wait to see what really happens with the snow and don't jump the gun with a "night before" decision.

I wonder why in Montgomery County which prides itself on being so liberal, no one has made a push to rename some of these schools and also desegregate these neighborhoods. An entire county naming all high schools with minimal to no apartments with a distinguishing letter to further segregate the county.

Take it to the Maryland forum.

This thread is about Virginia snow days.
