Missing DC (well, MoCo) ... move back?

Anonymous
This is OP again ... then I have a weekend like this one where older DC has a sleepover with our backyard neighbor who is same age and they are BFFs and younger DC has sports games with friends and a bday party. I think about that older DC would be coached in HS by my colleagues who would be such good role models. Younger DC has a rough time in school and current should has been supportive. The family really has it good here (except that we don’t go to church but I’m also the only one who cares about that) and it’s just me. I have a really hard time thinking I should just suck it up and try not to be miserable for 9 (ugh) years.

Are there people out there who have decided to put their own personal needs on hold for typical kids? Mine don't have any remarkable needs that would drive us to a particular area for medical or educational opportunities. Is this part of what's wrong with younger generations? That we make decisions based on our kids and not based on what we want or is that just part of parenting?

Probably. I make decisions based on my own life but wouldn’t ever admit it to anyone besides a close friend who probably feels the same. I figure my children will grow up and then they can do whatever they want to do. I enjoy working, socializing and staying in shape. I don’t worry about baby food, birthday parties, activities, etc.
