This is my husband and it is super annoying

Why???

Why is he like this? He gets bored and likes new things.

Why is it annoying? Because I view it as a huge waste of money to continually buy new cars when the old ones were totally fine!

I keep mine about 8 years on average. My husband keeps his about 14 years on average.

I know I should keep mine longer, but it's the family vehicle. I don't want to risk breaking down, and I generally get significant safety and fuel efficiency upgrades when I buy a new car.

Very similar; 2007 CR-v with 100k miles. I'd like to upgrade to a couple year old Pilot within the next year or so, but I shouldn't have to my car seems to be fine for the most part.

+1 Or it stops dead in the driveway. Whichever comes first.

I wish mine would stop dead in the driveway consistently. It usually chooses to stop at the most inconvenient times like on the highway, at carpool lane pick up, when we need to be on time for something.

A long time ago I worked at a school where one of the teachers told me during car line duty that she thought we needed two lines - the car line and the push line because we had so many cars breaking down every day! BTDT. Sorry it is happening to you, PP!

Still driving a 97 Camry with 170,000 miles. Plan to replace soon because we have young kids so want something newer, though theres really nothing wrong with it other than cosmetic issues and that it feels a bit rickety when you get over 50 mph

2006 Hummer H3. Has 200 miles on it. Will keep it going because I LOVE it!

Until death do us part!

We have a 2004 Acura TSX and a 2007 Honda CRV. No plans to upgrade until we have to.

I think you either sell cars at 3 years or less when it still retains value or drive them until the end. And getting a new car every few years is too much work for me.

We'll get a new car soon. What can you do.......That is a good plan. We need two lines as you have the parents who know what they are doing and use it right and the other ones who make it a hot mess.

I had my last car for 15 years. Only got rid of it when I purchased a van when I had kids. My van is now 14 years old with 140,000 miles on it. I don’t see myself getting rid of it anytime soon. My husbands car is seven and like me, he has no current plans to get rid of it

My Toyota is 15 years old and going strong. Our "new" car is 10 years old.
