They don't like the answer so attack the poster and still think the Langley college counselor is going to help their 3.33 kid get in. Dream on!

What?

See name calling at 12:55. A new low for the College and University Discussion.

Ah, but 10:21 - calling the parent "delusional" - wasn't low and unnecessary. Look, if you're the parent lying about college counseling within FCPS, then get your facts straight before coming here and spewing nonsense.

I'm not 10:21.

There is a difference between ACCEPTED and ENROLLED.

Many TJ students may get ACCEPTED to UVa but few of them ENROLL because they actually enroll at Ivies and other private schools.

Cause they’re all really rich? I know a number of highly able - and likable- TJ grads who went to Tech.

More TJ students end up at UVA than any other college or university even if it and Tech are safeties for others. Your statement is completely wrong.

Last year 224 were admitted to UVA and 62 actually are attending.

Which is likely more than from any other HS in the country. Not "a few."

These are painful statistics to swallow. Thank you for the reality check.

No.

I just went through all this last year with my kid.

A ton of kids get into UVA and W&M. About the amount that I think should, considering it is the flagship.

The kids who didn't get in just weren't as good.

Mine didn't apply. We just picked a flagship that was a better match and got some merit aid.

You had to bump an almost year old thread to make this comment? Really?

No.

Better yet, drop that sport for some long-term meaningful community service and you’re golden.
